1/23/06 - The Stock Moto Shifter class will run together with the 125cc Moto/ICC class but will be scored seperately. If participation in the Stock Moto class gets large enough we will look at making a split start with the Stock Moto's starting 15 seconds or something similar behind the 125cc ICC/Moto class. The Stock Moto class will follow the 2005 SKUSA Stock Moto (S3) engine rules, the class will be a minimum of 375 lbs. and will run on Bridgestone YHC tires. For additional information please contact Greg Wright at 317-293-2999 or email.
1/13/06 - Photos of the new small sprint track and pavement oval are now on the Gallery page, scroll to the bottom. Please note that we will NOT race on the oval or small sprint track in 2006, we will have practice on them in either October or November 2006. There is NO schedule for races on the small sprint track or oval in 2006.
1/4/06 - Happy New Year! The 2006 KRA/NCMP Schedule is now online.
We have a few class updates to announce - For 2006 the Senior Briggs class will remain as is with flathead Briggs engines only (No OHV engines allowed).
The Jr Briggs class will remain as is with the flathead Briggs using the gold .575 restrictor plate and the Animal engines will use the gold .505 restrictor plate. Class age is 10-15 years old.
As the popularity of the Animal increases KRA/NCMP will evolve the rules as needed for 2007 in the 4 cycle classes.
12/6/05 - There have been rumors that KRA will add a TaG Jr. class at NCMP in 2006, this is not true. At this point the only class change will be in the Spec TaG classes. Spec TaG Light and Spec TaG Heavy will become Spec TaG Senior with a weight of 385 lbs. and a 77 tooth max rear gear. There will also now be a Spec TaG Masters with a weight of 385 lbs. and an 11-77 tooth max gear and a minimum driver age of 35 years old. This will give Spec TaG racers the opportunity to run Spec TaG and the TaG USA classes in Senior and/or Masters.
KRA is considering adding a second Yamaha Jr. Sportsman class. This would allow kids 8-12 already in the Yamaha Jr. Sportsman class to race twice per race day with the same equipment, just like we do with the big carb Yamaha Junior class. There would be a second qualifying session as well as a second feature race. We need the parents input on this idea and if there would be any support in having this class. It would be an additional entry of $30.00 and the class needs to mantain a minimum of 10 entries per weekend. Please email us with your input.
We will be running the Unlimited class in 2006 at the tail end of the 125cc shifter class. With the recent talk of stock moto class we are looking at running stock motos with the ICC class but scored seperately for a year end points champion. For additional information and comments on the 125cc ICC/Moto and Unlimited class for 2006 please contact Greg Wright at 317-293-2999 or email.
As in the past two seasons KRA's goal is to have stability in regards tot he rules and keep cost to a minimum. Any rule changes would only be to reduce or control costs for the racers.
The 2005 KRA Banquet is scheduled for Saturday February 25th from 12pm until completion. We wil be sending out information and banquet forms to all KRA members soon.
